Why Education?

Education is the foundation of civilization. Through language and the transmission of knowledge, humanity has evolved, forging connections across individuals, generations, cultures, and the world around us. Through education we learn how to relate, to ourselves, one another, other species, the Earth, and ultimately, the Cosmos.

The word education stems from the Latin educare : to nurture, to bring up, and educere : to draw out, to lead forth. This notion encapsulates a dual role for which I am personally and professionally committed: the stimulation of knowledge and guiding individuals toward their fullest potential.

the purpose of my educational efforts

My educational initiatives bridge the realms of thought, creativity, and research within the domain of artistic practice. Together with participants, we co-create safe enough spaces that promote a collaborative ethos for experience and knowledge exchange. In these spaces, we cultivate meaningful dialogues between scientific and philosophical reflections, integrating perspectives beyond the Western paradigm. By reconnecting with life’s interconnections and complexity, I offer a humane invitation to deepen our responsibility and diversify our awareness and Care toward the Self, the Earth and one another.

“Knowledge, to be truly transformative, must be a shared and embodied endeavor.

Collaborating for Well-being in Science

Together with my dear friend and colleague Anna Kanitz (embodied-clinic psychologist), we facilitate workshops designed to support the well-being of the scientific community. Our programs integrate artistic practices with scientific principles to promote holistic personal and professional growth.

This workshop empowers scientists to find their voice, balancing confidence with authenticity. We focus on enhancing public speaking skills through the exploration of anxiety and functional coping mechanisms, allowing participants to connect more deeply with their audience and themselves. This program blends art and somatic practices, helping participants reconnect with their bodies and the world around them. By exploring a wide set of topics, embracing complexity, and focused attention in the sensing body, we aim to cultivate a sense of well-being that enhances both personal and professional lives within the scientific community. All my programs are flexible and can be adapted to group size, resources, and needs. I’m open to inquiries on other topics and offer sessions in English, Spanish, and some in German upon request.

How do I integrate art into education?

Art is central to my educational approach because it engages the senses, emotions, and intellect in ways that pure information cannot. Through artistic practices, I help participants peel back layers of conditioning to see the world anew, reconnect with the rhythms of nature, and explore the depths of their own emotions. Art becomes a medium for self-discovery and a bridge to deeper understanding among the environment and others.

What are the key elements of my educational philosophy?

Physicality and the Senses: The body, as our most intimate link to nature, offers profound wisdom. Through movement, stillness, and sensory exploration, I invite participants to attune to the ancient rhythms of the Earth, deepening their connection with the natural world and experience the world’s subtle rhythms and unfiltered beauty.

Emotional Bodies: Understanding emotions and its signals as more than an adaptive apparatus, in my sessions we open space for a non-judgemental exploration of their as vital messages to bridge our inner and outer worlds.

Complexity, Interconnection and Diversity: By embracing these concepts, I invite participants to revisit their sense of self through gentle practices and inquiries. We invite different systems of thought, such as indigenous and Eastern philosophies, among the western approaches in scientific research and classic philosophy, to enhance and create a healthy contrast of our perception of reality.

State of Flow: My educational philosophy centers on the creative process, encouraging participants to immerse themselves fully in activities to embody this desirable state as a shared experience.
