Sound Art Installation.

This art piece draws inspiration from feminist movements, such as “Womanhouse” (1972) featuring Judy Chicago, Miriam Schapiro, and collaborators, as well as Martha Rosler’s audiovisual work “Semiotics of the Kitchen” (1975). It follows the conceptual path paved by these movements and extends their cooperative legacy to advocate for feminist causes.

The creative process is grounded in experimentation, reminiscent of Dadaism, incorporating exercises proposed by Murray Schafer and influenced by Pierre Schaeffer’s working methods as described by José Iges in “Soundscapes: An Historical Approach” (1999).

Our goal is to “cook up” an artistic proposal by decontextualizing the kitchen as a creative space and challenging the historical role assigned to women in this context. We aim to produce what we call a “sonic fusion menu,” consisting of sound art installation that “serves” a conventional Valencian Menu.

¡Bon profit!

The drinks were served through the “spelling” in Spanish of the morse code in the background.
