Sound Art Installation. Performance.

This art installation was created by a group of passionate art students at the Universitat Politècnica de València. This collaborative art piece aimed to shine a light on the once pristine sea waters that had fallen victim to pollution and plastic waste in the beautiful sea of Valencia.

Sound Art Contribution

As you step into the world of Plastic Flow, you are immediately transported to the shores of Valencia. The gentle, rhythmic sounds of the sea waves surround you, lulling you into a sense of serenity. It’s as if you’re standing on the pristine beaches of Valencia, listening to the natural symphony of the ocean.

However, just as you become lost in the beauty of these sounds, an abrupt interruption shatters the tranquility. An artificial sound, jarring and dissonant, pierces through the auditory landscape. It’s a stark reminder of the harsh reality faced by those who dare to swim in these polluted waters.

The sound of plastic pieces entangling the body, a disconcerting cacophony, echoes through the installation. It serves as a stark contrast to the pure, harmonious sea waves, driving home the urgent message that our oceans are struggling under the weight of plastic pollution.

Plastic Flow is not just an art installation; it’s a call to action. It challenges visitors to confront the stark contrast between the natural beauty of the sea and the environmental crisis it faces. Through this immersive experience the artists invite us all to reflect on our role in preserving the precious waters of Valencia and the global oceans.
