THE INVITATION (2019)

This work took shape in October 2019, during long, contemplative walks through the streets, along the beach, and within the halls of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. It holds fragments from previous travels—clips from Colombia and a fleeting visit to Lisbon—together in this piece, as if different places and times conspired to create a single, unified expression.

At its core, this work invites the viewer to pause and reflect on existence, to question the layers of reality we move through every day, often without noticing. The text serves as the guiding thread, shaping both the visual and auditory experience. Recorded in the facilities of UPV, this piece was realized with the help of my dear friend and classmate, Mateo Barcia, whose presence and assistance in recording and editing the voice helped bring these reflections to life. Together, we created something that seeks to not just be seen or heard, but felt—an echo of the spaces we pass through and the realities we inhabit.

This work marked a pivotal time of transformation in my perception of reality. I consciously trained myself to pay close attention to the little details of my surroundings. Ever since, I have made it a habit to record short videos.
