TRANSFIGURATION

TRANSFIGURATION (2024)

Transfiguration is a site-specific art installation co-created by the Berlin-based Colombian artists Eliana Araque and Carolina del Pilar. This art piece features biomorphic sculptures made from recycled paper donated by the botanical library of Berlin.

Installed on the fences of Berlin Recycling GmbH as part of the Papier Futur Lab 2024, curated by the Haus des Papiers Berlin, the artwork responds to environmental conditions, changing appearance with sunlight and rain.

This installation, inspired in the beauty of the peonies, in blossom at the beginning of this collaboration, symbolizes the fusion of art and sustainability, highlighting the potential of recycled materials and nature’s resilience. It aims to raise environmental awareness and demonstrate the collaborative potential between artists and large companies.
